Tony Watkins

PARTNER

BIO

Mr. Gene “Tony” Watkins has a dynamic practice, covering both the criminal and civil arenas.  His practice, though primarily within Texas, has taken him across the country and he has handled cases dealing with Fortune 500 companies and against some of the country’s largest law firms.

In the civil realm, Mr. Watkins handles general civil litigation (e.g. breach of contract, deceptive trade practices act, business disputes), personal injury (automobile/18-wheeler accidents, premises liability) and Employment and Labor (ADA, TITLE VII, FLSA, ADEA). He has tried cases before, both bench and jury, with cases in both state and federal courts. Mr. Watkins has argued and drafted dispositive motions, mediated successful results for clients, as well as obtaining great results without trial via settlement. Though the majority of his work is on the trial level, Mr. Watkins has filed multiple appeals to the Federal Circuit. He has also been afforded the rare and distinguished opportunity of arguing before the Federal Circuit.

Mr. Watkins’ criminal practice is just as varied. He represents clients charged with misdemeanors all the way to high-level felonies. In addition to his state criminal work, he practices in the Federal Courts. He handles cases from inception to verdict, often getting them disposed of via arguing dispositive motions or flat-out dismissal.

Prior to co-founding Sherman Watkins PLLC, Mr. Watkins worked for boutique law firms as well as a prominent Plaintiff’s firm in Texas.

Tony is a zealot advocate who excels in written and oral advocacy. Routinely garnering greats results for his clients, whether the matter is big or small.
